Technology
Training Courses
The
Academic English Mastery Program conducts ongoing training
for teachers and paraeducators in integrating computers and other technologies
into the curriculum at its own computer training lab and a multimedia
technology center.
Teachers gain technological literacy while acquiring a greater understanding
of the ways in which technology can enhance curricula. As an incentive
to enroll in AEMP technology training courses, teachers can receive
salary point credit or training pay.
Current course titles include "Using the Macintosh in the Language
Rich Classroom", "Desktop Publishing for Teachers
and Their Students", "Maintaining the Technology
Rich Classroom", "Introduction to Multimedia
and Hyperstudio for Teachers and Their Students".
The AEMP Technology Training and Multimedia Center is housed at 99th
Street Accelerated School. Teachers may request course offerings and
sign-up through the AEMP office (213) 625-4134.
